Friends of the Artesia Library

Mission

The purpose of this association shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries; to focus attention on library services, facilities, and needs; and to stimulate gifts of books, magazines, desirable collections, endowments and bequests.

What We do

The Friends of the Artesia Library’s purpose is to raise funds for the Artesia Library which is part of the LA County Library system. Every year the Friend volunteers donate money to the library in order to purchase books, periodicals, and supplies for which the county budget does not provide. A big portion of our donation goes to providing programs throughout the year for children, teens, and adults.

We sponsor such things as science shows, author talks, magic shows, movie nights, paint classes, and a host of other programs. In order to fund our donations, the Friends hold basket raffles, garden party dinner events, book sales, and direct solicitations to the community. Every year we try to raise approximately $15,000 to $20,000 which all goes back to the library. Please help us by donating or by becoming a Friend.
